WinRAR is one of the most essential tools for a computer.  It’s a powerful Archive Manager, and one of its main uses is to pack together multiple files, and combine them to one. This is extremely helpful for Download/Uploading files. As you can see, some of the Downloads I release are in .RAR format. This means you have to unpack them to use all the files inside.

FileZilla is the best FTP program. If you own a website, you have to use FTP for transferring multiple files onto your Website. Well after testing FileZilla, I found it better than SmartFTP, and FireFTP(The FTP Firefox Add-on). However, don’t give up on FireFTP. If you are looking for a Quick, One-File Upload, keep the tiny FireFTP in your Firefox Add-ons. I reccomend FileZilla for transferring the large files. FileZilla transfers at almost twice the speeds of SmartFTP and FireFTP. Enjoy!

This DVD Converter is my Favorite DVD Converter. After Downloading a Movie off uTorrent or Ares, I watch it on my Plasma TV by burning it onto a DVD. Finding good software is hard, and this took me a while. This is of course, free of charge, and works really great. All you have to do, is put in a DVD (Don’t worry, you don’t even need a DVD Burner, just put in the DVD, and it will do it anyway!), select the video(s) that you wan’t, and hit Convert! Voila! It will Convert to DVD .Mpeg Format, then burn it onto your DVD! Enjoy!

µTorrent is my favorite Torrenter.  Not only was it my alternative to Ares, but it works 100% of the time, and is even faster than Ares! µTorrent is so lightweight, the program itself is less than one megabyte… that’s unreal! But in order for µTorrent to work, you Must find Torrents.  µTorrent is a program that Downloads torrents, and to Download a torrent, you must go to these Websites:

- www.PirateBay.org

- www.Mininova.org

- www.ExtraTorrent.com (The Greatest Porn Torrents)

- www.IsoHunt.com

- www.TorrentReactor.net

Torrents are miniature files.  They contain the original file.  Say you want a Full Length Movie.  The normal movie file will be around 1 Gigabyte, while the Torrent is around 20 Kilobytes…So Downloading Torrents is MUCH easier for Downloading Large Files. However, when you choose Torrents on any of these Torrent sites, make sure they have a HIGH amount of Seeders.  Seeders are the people you Download from, and the more Seeders, the Better.  A Leecher is someone who IS downloading the Torrent. You need this information on whether to Download that Torrent or find another one!

For people that think p2p or torrents take up alot of your Bandwidth, it depends! The main reason I prefer µTorrent over Ares, or anything else, is the customizable Upload Speed. One Secret is, Download Speed doesn’t affect your Internet Speed, it’s UPLOAD speed! The faster you Upload, the Slower your Internet is, I’ve tried it! So that’s why I set my Download Speed to Unlimited, and my Upload Speed to 3 kbps. Yeap, 3! This is my magic number, because my Download Speeds Skyrocket at 3 kbps Upload Speed. When I move my Upload Speed higher or lower, my Download Speeds drop! So keep Upload Speed at 3 kbps, and you’re good!

Ares is my favorite P2P program. It is somewhat of a Bandwidth hog, but it will still Download pretty fast and will not give you any Viruses. In Ares, you can Download Music, Videos, Software, Books, and More! It’s truly evolved into one of the most Diverse programs out there. However, some people decide to release fake content. For example, people will upload a virus, but name it as World of Warcraft, and people will Download it. The only way to protect yourself from this is to Read the Comments and read the Full Filename. The Full Filename will not be World of Warcraft, but will be a wacky name like “Trojan32″ Those are fairly easy to pickup. But if you have trouble with Ares, definately go into µTorrent. You ask yourself, why are you reccomending Ares, if you yourself had trouble with it? The answer is shaky, but Ares only works on SOME computers… My friend has Ares, and it always works for him. It just depends on your Computer and Internet Speed. I, myself just had an easier time with uTorrent. So try Ares, and if it doesn’t work, use µTorrent! Bootleg away!
